I now have Kodi open to the login screen even if there is only one user on a device. Then on my Shield, disable ALL apps from auto-updating. Yes I will have to manually update apps but that's a small inconvenience instead of rebuilding a Kodi "Leia" 18.4 Release Usual rules apply: don't expect any new features, don't think that this will change your life, it won't make you richer or more attractive, but it will hopefully be more stable and usable for people who've been victims of any of these bugs.

On Kodi 17.6, you could try and install an Add-on but if it failed, it was not easy to see exactly why it failed. Was there a missing dependency? What didn't install etc. In Kodi 18, each addon as a dedicated section for dependencies so you can see exactly what dependencies the add-on needs and what are already installed.

But when I did mine, I went fro m17.6 to 18.1 and I had to do a fresh install because addons didn't work (meaning they worked on 17.6 but once upgraded, they stopped working) and I'd have had to uninstall and reinstall the addons anyways. I use an Nvidia Shield, so not sure if you use an actual PC if it's the same.
